OPC UA is a technology for the secure communication between different machines
and computers, which is becoming increasingly important in the context of automation.
Modern programming environments make it the ideal replacement for PLC programmers
for previously used methods ( ProfiNet, ModBus, etc.). In the case of a Siemens PLC,
for example a few mouse clicks are enough to establish an encrypted connection.
On the PC side, the situation is still different: The time-consuming and costly search for a suitable
programming environment then requires intensive training of the programmers involved.
In the course of the last years, the company iret has built up the necessary knowledge in the field
of OPC UA and has already successfully implemented several projects.
